Recycling

Recycling is an important step towards sustainability. Instead of simply disposing of products in landfills, they are broken down into their original raw materials and can be used for new products. However, true sustainability is far from achieved in battery recycling. On the one hand, not all raw materials can be recovered, and on the other hand, far too many batteries currently end up in recycling that have not even reached their actual end of life. This currently affects about 80% of battery cells.

NOVUM technology now offers the possibility to unerringly determine the condition of batteries, battery modules and battery cells within seconds and to identify those that are suitable for further use before they are disassembled into their individual parts. Even broken batteries can be reconditioned by replacing only the defective cells. This makes the battery fit for a new life.
