Lithium, cobalt, nickel, manganese, copper, lead — the list of valuable and often toxic components is long. One thing is certain: batteries are indispensable. But manufacturers and users can do a lot to ensure that batteries are handled in the most environmentally friendly way possible.
Working together for a sustainable battery industry
In particular, this means not incinerating used batteries without testing them. But, if possible, to recycle them in a second or even third life cycle. In addition, companies can contribute to environmental protection by extending the capacity of energy storage devices or their useful life through careful operation. Some of our partners are even opening up new areas of business in this context. They use their waste batteries to build and operate large-scale battery storage themselves.
This is made possible by NOVUM technology. For the first time, companies can check the condition, remaining capacity and expected service life of batteries and battery cells cost-effectively and independently of location in a matter of seconds. They test whether batteries operate efficiently and in an environmentally friendly manner under various conditions of use.

We regularly invite our customers, partners and friends to great participatory events. In order to become active together for more environmental protection and sustainability beyond the daily office routine and to strengthen our network.
Tree planting campaign on Dresden’s Keulenberg, March 2022
We switched off our PCs and planted a total of 150 trees together with all our colleagues on the Keulenberg near Dresden. A wonderful opportunity to do something good and at the same time get to know our new team members better. We had wonderful sunshine throughout the day, and a delicious home-cooked pea soup.
Dresden city cycling, July 2022
Every year in summer, we take part in the Dresden city cycling campaign. Together with thousands of other participants, we work to highlight the importance of cycling as a means of transportation in the city and to draw attention to deficiencies in the cycling infrastructure. Of course, we are also interested in the positive effect of cycling on climate and health. That’s why we’re collecting as many bike kilometres as possible on our way to work and in our free time during these three weeks.
