C-Rate

The C-rate describes how quickly a battery is charged or discharged relative to its rated capacity. It is calculated by dividing the charging or discharging current by the rated capacity: At 100 Ah and 100 A, it is 1 C; at 50 A, it is 0.5 C. A C-rate of 1 C theoretically corresponds to a full charge or discharge within one hour. The C-rate affects a battery’s performance, heat generation, and aging; consistently high values can shorten its service life.
