Sometimes you can’t tell if an exhibition was a success by the number of steps on your fitness tracker, but rather by the fact that, by the end, you can hardly remember who you wanted to talk to first.
ees Europe 2026 faced its own unique challenges this year. Temperatures well above 40 degrees, canceled trains, and exhibition halls where everyone was grateful for even the slightest breeze. Nevertheless, one thing quickly became clear: the industry was there. More than 2,700 exhibitors and over 100,000 visitors came to Munich to discuss the future of the energy industry. Impressive, considering that on those days, everyone would probably have preferred to be at a swimming lake rather than in an exhibition hall.
For us at NOVUM, the trade show was a complete success.
Our schedule was already packed even before the exhibition ees 2026 began, and in between our scheduled meetings, we had many spontaneous encounters. We reconnected with familiar faces, made new contacts, and had many exciting discussions about battery storage, data analysis, and the future of BESS. It’s exactly this mix that makes ees Europe so valuable to us every year.
A particular highlight was our Storage Guard. Many visitors were already familiar with our solution from previous conversations or presentations. At the exhibition, they were able to experience the platform for themselves, explore its features, and get a firsthand impression. Instead of a traditional product presentation, numerous technical discussions took place on topics such as security, performance, and the lifespan of battery storage systems. It was great to see just how much interest there is now in a data-driven perspective on storage operations.
We were also particularly pleased with the enthusiastic response to our tour of storage manufacturers. Together with our CEO, Mandy Schipke, we visited various manufacturers, asked technical questions, and discussed different approaches right at the exhibition booths. This quickly evolved into an open exchange in which not only we, but also the participants, shared their experiences and insights. That was exactly our goal. The consistently positive feedback has shown us that we definitely want to continue this format. So we can already say: The tour will be back next year. And if you have any ideas, requests, or suggestions regarding which topics or manufacturers we should include in the future, we’d love to hear your feedback at any time.
Just as important as the conversations with customers was the atmosphere at our joint booth with the Saxony Economic Development Agency. Between appointments, quick breaks, and many technical discussions, the team from Sonderbar Dresden once again made sure that no one went hungry or without coffee for long. We’d like to express our sincere thanks for that. After all, a good day at a trade show isn’t just about conversations—sometimes it’s also about a really good sandwich.
Now comes the part that trade show visitors rarely get to see. Meeting notes are sorted, new projects are launched, appointments are scheduled, and ideas are further developed. Our colleagues are processing all these impressions step by step. We’re taking home many new contacts, exciting insights, and plenty of motivation. Thank you to everyone who visited us at ees Europe, discussed ideas with us, or simply stopped by for a quick chat.
We’re already looking forward to ees Europe 2027.
There’s just one thing left on our wish list for next year: the same great conversations, but a few degrees cooler.
